Letters and their dots

I, like everyone else, often think about the whys and whats of things that don’t necessarily warrant these questions. Often these are just quick flashes that are gone faster then they came. I wanted to consciously focus on some of these questions and dig deeper into them to satisfy my inner child. Now that we have internet and these questions can be answered if you have enough time and willing power.

That was my mindset going into this and a first question of this caliber that came into my mind throughout the week was why do we write dots over i and j.
